James Quinn

Founder and Executive Director

James Quinn is an information management and international development professional having lived and worked in Richmond, Charlottesville, and Pittsburgh as well as India, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Libya. He is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served in Uzbekistan as a Health Extension Volunteer. James has over 10 years of professional experience as a data systems analyst, database engineer, and internet programmer. He has worked and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, CASA, the IRC, and Legal Aid Clinics. His education has been broad based as an undergraduate in Anthropology and Biology at VCU and as a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA). He earned an advanced law degree (LL.M.) in human rights law from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen where he concentrated on the human right of access to information and services.

James' project management experiences include community data collection and mapping; database design and management; creation and maintenance of community information resources; GIS mapping of health outcomes and demographics, health and social services, crime reports, neighborhood accessibility, and humanitarian response efforts; data modeling for law firms; and web design for Fortune 100 companies. James serves as the executive director of OKC and focuses his time on forging new project ideas, keeping partners informed, and attracting talented volunteers, interns, staff, and directors to the cause of better results through better information.
